Fire Protection Training

Program Summary

Program provides funding to SIIT to provide fire protection training to First Nations. Funds cover the costs of a program coordinator and the instructors’ salaries, travel, meals and accommodations based on the Government of Canada rates. It is agreed that by training the fire chiefs, they can then in turn provide training to their volunteers in lieu of formal courses by SIIT when jointly agreed to by the Minister and Institute.

Eligible Recipients

Funding is provided as a fixed contribution.
