Chlamydia Diagnosis Rate per 100,000 Population, On-Reserve, 2018
Notes: Chlamydia is the most commonly diagnosed and reported STI in Canada. Chlamydia can be transmitted through sexual contact with an infected individual or through vertical transmission from infected mothers to their newborns.
Limitations: Although symptoms of gonorrhea are common in men, the majority of women are asymptomatic. Age-standardized rates would be ideal to compare sexually transmitted infection among different populations; but unfortunately, provincial data is not available to allow for this age-standardized comparison.
